Stampin' Up! Island Floral

I recently learned how to make this pretty Island Floral. For this project you'll need one sheet of cardstock for the flower, a 2.5" x 3" piece of green cardstock for the leaves, 32" inches of ribbon or yarn, Island Floral Bigz die, Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, Standard Cutting Pads, and paper snips.

Start with die-cutting 5 flowers and 2 leaves from Stampin' Up!'s Island Floral Bigz die.

Score flower at each point where the petal meets the center. Folds can go in random directions.

Cut an 8 inch piece of ribbon, tie a knot and string it through the hole of one of the flowers. (Tip: you may want to double the knot to insure that the ribbon doesn't pull through)

Repeat this step 3 more times.

Take the ends of the four ribbons and pull them through the hole of the last flower. (Tip: you may want to stack the ends of the ribbon and snip it an angle to make it easier to pull through the hole.) Pull the ribbons til it is taught up against the last flower.

Secure the ribbon in the back of the flower by tying a knot. (tip: try to keep the strings pulled as taught as possible). Glue leaves.

Adjust each flower until you have achieved the look by rotating the flowers and/or changing the direction of the folds.

Colors: Melon Mambo and Old Olive. Have fun!

Disneyland on Memorial Day

This may not be Landon's first visit to Disneyland but he had many firsts today. His first ride at Disneyland was It's A Small World. At first he sat really still in Daddy's lap...then he started to look around and towards the end he was clapping his little hands. So cute.

Another first for Landon was the King Arthur Carousel...he loved the ride. I was happy that he didn't plant is lips on the pole.

First Disneyland stroller rental.

Landon saying hi to his Auntie Joycee.

Landon's first meet and greet with Woody.

I think Landon is going to sleep really well tonight. We'll see....

On the ride back home. The only way to get him to wear his Mouse Ears today.

Bath Time

One of Landon's favorite times of the day with Daddy.

Oh my, he's learned to stand in the bath and yes, he wants to taste the glass. Not surprised since he likes to put everything in his mouth.

Landon @ 10 months

Happy 10 months Landon! Capturing these pictures with Landon and his bear has proven to be challenging since he is a little more mobile these days.
He has started to eat beef in his rice and veggies, loves yogurt, and we've been expanding his palette of fruit. He has gotten his crawl down and pulling himself up to stand any chance he gets. He loves to listen to music and clap his hands. He continues to put anything and everything in his mouth and is a very curious little guy. He is aware of his surroundings and loves to play peek-a-boo. All and all...he's a happy baby.

Landon @ 41 weeks

Oh my! Just this last weekend, Landon started to pull himself up. It's time to lower the mattress, once again. He also has figured out how to sit himself up...such great milestones.

He got his 9 month physical this week with Dr. Stephanie and all is looking great. In the last four months, Landon has grown 2.75 inches and is 29.5 inches tall(85-90%), was 16lbs 2 oz and now weighs 20lbs (30-35%) and the biggest news of all is that his head circumference has also grown from 17.25 inches to 18.5 inches(85-90%). Oh wow!

He's a trooper. He was kicking, screaming and crying because we had to pin him down to have his blood drawn but he did well considering he was being poked with a big fat needle.

The fleur de lis stencil is one of three Stampin' Up!'s Elegant Trio stencil set.

Awash with Flowers...I CASED this from Shelli's Blog.

These projects are from my demonstrator hostess club that was held on Saturday. The projects were a hit but I think everyone's favorite was actually the Starburst Jelly Beans in the treat above. =)

Landon @ 9 months

Landon boy turned 9 months on Monday(April 19). Wow! He loves to crawl around, clap his hands and continues to babble and sing. He still drools (a lot!) and has 4 teeth with 4 more coming in. We think he weighs at least 20lbs. Boy, is he getting heavy. His palette for food is getting broader...on top of rice, chicken, peas, spinach, carrots, butternut squash, bananas and apples, he has been introduced to pears, grapes, tofu and star snacks. It is a joy to watch him try to feed himself...a little messy but all good.

We've discovered that he is not a fan of wearing socks. He manages to always pull them off with his little hands and teeth or wiggle out of them without using his hands. He's starting to hold his bottle...but only for a little bit before he figures out..."I don't need to hold the bottle....someone will hold it for me".

He continues to explore and want to discover, touch and put anything he can into his mouth. This includes planting soil, paper, books and leaves. I've gotten biten a few times trying to fish stuff out of his mouth.

The joy our boy brings into our lives is well worth the long evenings of not getting enough rest and getting things done. Life happens and loving every moment.

Happy 9 months Landon!
