The Lau Girls

Today, the Lau girls got together for our monthly gathering. We had lunch at Islands in Torrance and then spent several hours painting our pottery pieces at Color Me Mine. We had a blast painting away.

Kandace finished her candy dish pretty quickly...

Vivian finished her frame shortly after and decided to paint a second piece.

Joycee and I took a little longer, but in the end we all had a great time.

Here's my finished painted piece. Can't wait to see it glazed and all pretty and shiny.

My first Scrapbook Expo

My cousin Janice and I went to our first Scrapbook Expo in Ontario today. Pretty neat place to purchase scrapbooking goodies and see fun ideas. It has to be the best place to find deals. We dove into bins of $1 items and did our best to hang on to our finds because if you didn't, the lady next to you might just grab it from you. I think I went a little crazy today but it's all good. I had a great time.

Handmade Holiday

I love Simply Sent kits, especially when you're pressed for time. Stampin' Up! has put together this beautifully Simply Sent Card Elements Kit Handmade Holiday of patterned paper, self-adhesive die-cuts and cardstock. I also used the coordinating stamp set, To You and Yours to complete my cards. Simple, fun and easy to put together.

Punch Pals

Is the holiday season really around the corner? It was 95 degrees today and I'm still wearing my summer clothes in October! What is going on? Anyhow, the shape was done with SU!'s exclusive die, Top Notes Bigz Die. So cool, this idea was sent to me by Tracey, who saw it on Angie Tieman's blog. Thank you. The cardstock was placed on the die so it doesn't cut on one of the sides, thus making a folding card. Luv it! Stamp set used: Punch Pals and Best Yet. Simple, cute and easy to put together.

I've schedule a couple of holiday card classes, hope you'll join me for some stamping fun, even if its 95 degrees outside.

San Francisco

Just back from our trip to San Francisco. We had a wonderful time visiting with family and friends. The main reason we went was to celebrate Aidan's Red Egg and Ginger Party, the newest addition to the family.

This is one of my favorites pictures taken in San Francisco Chinatown. The boys just being boys and having a good time. Left to right: Luke, Canaan and Ryan.

Yep, boys will be boys.

Ice Cream makes me happy, even if it's really cold outside.

Just Jawing

I got this set just before I left for our long weekend and I had to make a card tonight.

Scandinavian Season

I'm beginning to play to with the sets I purchased from the Holiday Mini Catalog. This one is one of my favs. Scandinavian Season. I love the clean crisp lines with the ornate details. A simple embellishment with a little pretty half pearl is a nice touch. The stamp set is paired with Ski Slope DSP. Just lovely.

'o8

A simple layout that really focuses on the pictures. We created this spread last month but I wanted to share it with photos. It is not usual for me to create spreads without pictures. I know it's backwards but that is how I create sometimes. I will go as far as finding pictures that will fit my layout.

Trick or Treat

Here is one of the spreads we created from my Scrapbooking Hostess Club. I used SU!'s awesome Ghostly Greetings DSP along with Basic Black, Kiwi Kiss and Pumpkin Pie cardstock. The chipboard is SU!'s Loads of Letters...we just used them as they were since the page had so many colors. I have this class once a month, please let me know if you interested in joining us. Drop me an e-mail.

Gobble Gobble

This cute turkey card was a pick up from my Stampin' Success Magazine that demonstrators receive monthly. The card was pretty much the same except I made this one 4.25x5.5" vs 4x4" and changed the sentiment from 'thankful' to 'happy thanksgiving'...I didn't have the rub-on. Color combination: Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red and Whisper White. Add'l supplies: Chocolate Chip 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Boho Blossoms Punch, Double Circle, Scallop Circle, 1/4 Circle, 3/4 Circle, 1-3/8 Circle and 3/4 Circle.

Urban Garden

Happy Sunday! I know that I have a lot of favorite patterned paper, but this set is beautiful. It is SU!'s Urban Garden designer series paper. Love it. I have to give credit to the demonstrator that came up with the 3-d item..but I don't know here name, sorry. She's called it "bag-in-a-box"...so fun, so cute, and best of all, easy to make. Thank you.

Corbin and Charlotte

Introducing my nephew Corbin (8 yrs old) and my niece Charlotte (5 years old)...having a little fun playing hide and seek.

Hostess Club Projects

Sandy Urbino in my first downline was our hostess for our DHC (demonstrator hostess club) this month. I wanted to share the lovely projects we got to make...yeah! There is something really nice and special about just sitting around a table with my friends, chatting, stamping and eating. Sandy makes the best cupcakes and cookies...yum. Nothing like having a chocolate chip cookie on a Saturday morning. Yum Yummy. If you didn't notice, she made mini cookies for our Halloween Treat Baskets too!

The Kitchen Sink

I wanted to play with the idea pattern and texture mixing. The background stamp is SU!'s Riot of Petals(available on the dormant list), combined with a tonal stripe as a backdrop. This is rather unusual, but I think it works. I love the use of the new SU! Ribbon Originals, felt ribbon (found in the Holiday Mini Catalog), chunky glitter with the add accent of the rhinestone brad for the extra sparkle. Call me crazy for using so much stuff...sooooo unlike me. Hope you like the card.

Party Hearty #3

Here is another look at using SU!'s Party Hearty stamp set. This card was completely inspired from my scrapbook spread that I had posted in September. Color combination: Pacific Point, Riding Hood Red, Tango Tangerine, Summer Sun and Whisper White.
