Stampin' Up! Island Floral

I recently learned how to make this pretty Island Floral. For this project you'll need one sheet of cardstock for the flower, a 2.5" x 3" piece of green cardstock for the leaves, 32" inches of ribbon or yarn, Island Floral Bigz die, Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, Standard Cutting Pads, and paper snips.

Start with die-cutting 5 flowers and 2 leaves from Stampin' Up!'s Island Floral Bigz die.

Score flower at each point where the petal meets the center. Folds can go in random directions.

Cut an 8 inch piece of ribbon, tie a knot and string it through the hole of one of the flowers. (Tip: you may want to double the knot to insure that the ribbon doesn't pull through)

Repeat this step 3 more times.

Take the ends of the four ribbons and pull them through the hole of the last flower. (Tip: you may want to stack the ends of the ribbon and snip it an angle to make it easier to pull through the hole.) Pull the ribbons til it is taught up against the last flower.

Secure the ribbon in the back of the flower by tying a knot. (tip: try to keep the strings pulled as taught as possible). Glue leaves.

Adjust each flower until you have achieved the look by rotating the flowers and/or changing the direction of the folds.

Colors: Melon Mambo and Old Olive. Have fun!
